It's Important to Give Back

Over the years, Fred has been an active volunteer in the community, both through his local church and in organizations whose goal is to improve the lives of those less fortunate.

For 7 1/2 years, Fred served at Martha’s Table, where he drove their McKenna’s Wagon van every Monday evening. McKenna's Wagon delivers healthy meals to the homeless and those in need on the streets of Washington, DC every day, 365 days a year. Martha’s Table serves food daily to 100-250 through McKenna's Wagon.They have served hundreds of thousands of meals in their 35 years of service. Thousands more are served at Martha's Markets, the Joyful Food Markets. where they provide healthy meals to upwards of twenty schools in some of the poorest neighborhoods in DC. 

Fred also serves as a member of the investment committee for the St. John's Community Service Foundation in Washington, DC. Founded in 1868, the Foundation provides "comprehensive, community-based services for children and adults with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities." The investment committee oversees the investment management of the long-term reserve fund, which supports the foundation's efforts to fight for full citizenship and equal rights for those with disabilities. 

Fred and his wife, Cathy have participated in charity bike rides, supporting organizations such as American Diabetes Association and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They are active members of Reston Bible Church.
